Jesus' Passover Innovation -- Jesus institutes communion (the Lord's Supper) for the church.

Today's Readings:

Reading 1: Luke 22:19-20

Reading 2: 1 Corinthians 11:23-32

Reading 3: 1 Corinthians 10:15-17

Yesterday we saw the past significance of the Passover meal, and God's fulfillment of the prophetic imagery. Today the focus changes and we look forward from the Last Supper to the sacrament that will unite believers of all varieties through history - the common bond of receiving symbols of Jesus' broken body and shed blood to remember His death in our place.

Paul encourages us to be thoughtful and thankful as we join with others in remembering the death of Jesus for all humanity.

Have a great day!

Mark.
