Jesus' Passover Meal -- Jesus celebrates the Passover, Passover's origin, & Judas leaves.

Today's Readings:

Reading 1: Luke 22:14-18

Reading 2: Exodus 12

Reading 3: John 13:1-30

As we zero in on the crucifixion, and the culmination of Jesus' earthly ministry, we see the fulfillment of all the prophetic symbolism of the Passover meal. When God instituted this meal in the time of the exodus, He knew that it was a forerunner of something even greater He would do, yet many Jews did not understand the significance until after the resurrection. Even the disciples understood more with hindsight than they did at the time.

But they recorded all the details for our benefit so that our understanding would be complete. As you read today, especially John 13, watch for all the significant details of Jesus' words and actions that reveal and underscore the heart of God for everyday people (including you and me)!
