Day 114, James 3

James 3

What comes out shows what is inside!

Jacob is writing in a season where religious Jews are virulently opposing the life and power of the Church. Faced with the loss of status, influence, or human position, many people show what’s inside by acting out in violent persecution of those who are indwelt by God.

Jacob firstly warns us that our words are powerful and hard to tame: we end up sinning when we speak from our own resources. Then he goes on to stress that a life full of faith in Jesus will look like Jesus: gentle and peaceable but supernaturally fruitful.

As you read, reflect on his wisdom, and ask Holy Spirit to make His life shine through your words and actions.

May it be so for you and I today!

Have a great day!
