Jonah Flees & Prays -- God calls Jonah during the reign of Jeroboam II (northern king 41 years).

God called Jonah during the reign of Jeroboam II of Israel, but his response to the call was to run away. This was not the wisest course of action, but God was in control! The story is well known, but it is worth reading these two chapters carefully to catch all the details of what God is doing and why.

For us, the application is challenging, although there is no reason to flee! God is calling us all to make a difference. He wants everyone to find Him and to live for Him.
