Ezekiel -- Ezekiel grieves in captivity & God's call to preach to the disobedient captives.

Today's Readings:

Reading 1: Ezekiel 1:1-3

Reading 2: Ezekiel 2

Reading 3: Ezekiel 33:30-33

Another captive alongside Daniel is Ezekiel, whom God anoints to be a prophet. Far from being a desirable job, this is actually a sentence of suffering for Ezekiel. The people of Israel are not interested in doing what God says, so they are constantly threatening Ezekiel and making his life hard.

Do you ever wish you were more popular? Do you see acceptance as a form of blessing? Sometimes God puts His people in settings where all that is out of reach.

But the key to enduring such situations is to know that God sees, and knows, what you are facing. Here Ezekiel hears God reassuring him that his hardships are part of God's plan and that (by implication) God is pleased with him.

That is the most valuable thing you can hear!

Have a great day!

Mark.
