Revelation & the Second Coming -- Christ will return to the earth in power & glory

Today's Readings:

Reading 1: Revelation 19:11-21

Reading 2: Zechariah 14:1-15

Reading 3: 2 Thessalonians 1

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus tomorrow, what better readings than today's accounts of His present and future status - as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The rider on the white horse is Faithful and True - the first human to fully obey God, and open the way for all who trust Him to do the same. In a final battle, Jesus and the armies of heaven are victorious over satan and evil. As Zechariah prophesied: "On that day there will be one LORD—his name alone will be worshiped."

And Paul tells us that our participation in this whole panorama of salvation and righteousness is solely by grace - grace that became visible in a feeding trough one night more than two thousand years ago. Happy Christ-mas!
